Today, we are featuring a beautiful workspace from Argos, Greece. Upon discovering Dimitra’s work on Etsy, I was instantly drawn to Dimitra’s charismatic owls. It was also my first encounter with the term “pyrography”, which I found means “the art of decorating wood with burn marks” (wiki).
Needless to say, I explored her shop called Decor Asylum and found out so many more things to love. Apart from her owls, I found that her bears were just as charming as her whales and foxes. I absolutely adore her whimsical take of the woodlands!
Browsing around her online shop is such a happy tour. I can imagine how happier it would be to actually walk inside a real store and be able to touch and see these handmade creations in person.
Dimitra personally makes her creations from her home in Greece. Would you like to see what her workspace looks like? I am thrilled to say that Dimitra share a couple of photos of from her home/studio so we can have a peak of her beautiful workspace:
“Although I am from a country known for its sun, sea and long summers, I love the winter cold months and the woodlands. That is where I “travel” with my creations; in lush forests full of tall trees, moss carpets and beautiful animals.”
“I create in my home but that doesn’t mean that I confine myself just in the home office. A sketch book is constantly at hand’s reach in the living room and of course I always declare any surface – inside or outside the house- restricted if needed for my work in progress. Thankfully both my fiance and dog are very understanding!“
“Thank you for taking the time to get a glimpse of my workspace and thank you, Rachel, for having me over at your beautiful blog.” — Dimitra, Decor Asylum
