Bless That Dress is an Etsy shop that sells vintage clothing from the 40s to the 90s. Shop owner Marisol Simó Ayuso is based in Barcelona Spain, and her love for vintage clothes and photography has made opening a vintage clothing shop a dream come true.
There are so many items to like, and I love the fact that these are unworn, dead stock items. Below is my interview with Marisol, featuring some of my personal picks from the shop.

When did you launch your online store and why did you choose to a vintage clothing shop?
I launched Blessthatdress on April 2010. Since I was a teenager, I was attracted by the aesthetics of past decades. At that time finding vintage clothing was not so easy. Later on, I left my home village to study Arts in Valencia. It was there where I had the first opportunity to buy vintage clothes in the flea markets but also, most importantly,
I found shops and factories that had stock of unworn vintage items. Since then I have found vintage dead stocks in different places all around Spain, sometimes in big cities and sometimes in the tiniest fishing village by the coast. I love vintage clothing but also I love photography. Bless That Dress is my dream come true: I get to take pictures all day long surrounded by vintage clothing.

Do you do alterations on the items you sell?
Normally not, but I cut some skirts shorter and offer custom length on all the skirts and dresses.
Do you wear vintage?
Yes always, but I also combine it with modern clothes.
What is your personal style in clothing?
I will say I am pretty classy and classic, I love simplicity and neat cuts. and I always combine colors, I am passionate about it.
Do you have your own vintage collection?
Yes, I have lots of everyday wear, and a big shoe collection, cocktail and party dresses and a very cherished vintage lingerie collection.

If we peek inside your bag, what can we see?
Hehe, let me see, I always carry lots of things: one or two cameras, a notebook, water, and now because its winter lots of accessories like gloves, etc…
What are your favorite clothing shops?
I like lots of new shops, but my favorites are the classic spanish “mercerias” and “tiendas de barrio” run by warm and nice people that own the place and care about it, in this kind of shops you can find from underwear to coats or bedlinen.

Why did you choose Etsy to sell online?
Because! Etsy is the best place you can imagine to start a creative business. I fell in love first with the image and then with the community. The people, both sellers and customers in Etsy, are so great and the company your items get is awesome, just take a look at the treasuries. The Etsy staff in the forums and the sellers in the teams are an amazing support. All the creativity and kindness you found here you wouldn’t find them anywhere else.
What tips can you give people who would like to buy vintage clothing?
The best tip will be to know well your measurements, your size and wich cuts suits better your body type. Also to be aware of the fabrics, it makes a lot of difference.
